Sensei Bryce Rider achieves Shodan rank

On 4th November 2008, Sensei Bryce Rider received his full rank of Shodan after an intense session with other students from the Wanganui martial arts school - pictured below. Bryce was graded to Shodan Ho black belt rank in Spirit Combat Jujitsu by Soke Brian Dossett, the 10th Dan Founder, and Sensei Jim Cockram, on 4th April 2007 after a rigorous all-day session. Over the last 17 months, Bryce has shown dedication and commitment to his training, becoming more involved with teaching other students and more confident in his own abilities. Bryce has been steadily assessed over a couple of months, and his technical knowledge of Spirit Combat Jujitsu has been shown to be excellent. Bryce is also a very adept student of kickboxing, grappling, and eskrima.

Permission was sought from Soke Brian Dossett for Bryce's advancement and a full endorsement was given. It is a great honour for Bryce to receive a well earned promotion in rank.

Spirit Combat Jujitsu's black belt grading structure follows the progression : Shodan Ho, Shodan, 1st Dan, 2nd Dan, 3rd Dan, and so on. It is also common for the extra usage of intermediate 'Ho' ranks to be awarded between full ranks should the need or occasion arise.
